When we left french creek couple weekends back we pinched the pigtail cord.(one that goes into the tow vechile)

So we purchase a New Pigtail and one by one  disconnect each color one at a time and then re attach the new color.  going around like that for all 7 wires.    One thing I would like to mention the YELLOW wire was not attached on the trailer side..  Didnt even really see a yellow wire on the trail side (pig tail has it)?      after install the new plug.. pressed the breaks the radio goes out (in the camper)... turn the turn signals on in the car the lights go off on the outside of the camper...... and so on.. So nothing works at the same time    Used  a meter on the New cord and everything seems fine.    Cleaned the ground off also!      2 days to camping and we cant figure it out and the Place we bought it from doesnt have a clue.

I told my husband when we picked it up from inspection a month ago I didnt think  the break lights worked right.  They had replace the BATTERY ground for us.. thats the only change they did.

I will be back at the storage place again to meet my husband when he gets home from Philly todaY... just looking for suggestions before some one has to die!    😀 ;D :'(    HEHEH

Yellow is the left turn signal, so the wiring should be there.
All of the wires should be checked against the diagram. sounds like some may be crossed.

I was having a similar issue with the lights barely working on my utility trailer and my popup.  My bro said to me years ago that it isn't worth the trouble to "fix" trailer lights.  Once you start fixing one break, another happens, so on and so forth.  He was referring to utility trailers but I am going to apply this to my pup as well.

Lets just say I have fixed many loose wires over this past year and finally had enough.  I bought these LED submersible lights with all of the wiring for $39 at Harbor Freight.  I bought them for my utility trailer but I think I will put them on the pup as well.  I am just going to take the old lights off, cut the wire, bolt the new ones on and run the new wire up front.

My pup is set up with a 7 blade RV plug but the trailer does not have brakes and it does not have a fridge that needs a constant 12v source in transit.  Therefore this solution will work for me since I only need lights on my trailer.  I don't know if it will work for your pup.

I fixed it!!!  want to know how?    I kicked the Plug on the Tahoe.... and then plugged the New Pigtail in and everything worked .. only after my husband redid the wires a few more times lol!...  So there must be a short on the Tahoe side!  It works now!  I guess we will be looking at replacing that.  But I do get to go camping and fishing this weekend! :).

Sounds as if there is a stray wire in the TV plug. Take the plug apart and check it out. Before putting it back together make sure the stranded wires are tightly twisted together and tin the ends of each wire (solder the ends the ends of each wire together so no stray strands can get loose) and put it back together. Save yourself some money.

Sounds great!  Heading to french creek tonight.  I will look at it this weekend and the Money I save I could put towards the Beer fund 🙂

Thanks!
