If that is all the schedule allowed and we could find a site for a one night stand we would do it.  Probably would not set up awning,  However we ofter do not set up the awning.  I have searched the RA site for nearby campgrounds on a Wednesday to find a site for the weekend and then.

Can't see it happening.....weekend maybe but still not enough time for all the effort....by the time you started to relax it would be time to go ( then again, isn't that always the way it is? ;D )

Part of the reason we went to the HTT was to be able to do one nighters. Everything is pretty much in there. Hook up and go. We did a one nighter last year and paid for a late check out on Sunday and DWs got to take advantage of the Sunday events the CG had planned. That all being said I think you'd only go fairly local for a one nighter.

We decided Sunday morning to do a one night trip boon-docking at the Auburn dam.  My family water skis, tubes and we kayak there... no electric, no water.  Very nice times, comfortable sleeping with everything open.

Devil's advocate here... what do you do if you're on a long haul trip where one nighters would be the norm between Point A and Point B?

I'll be heading to TX at the end of June, I expect at least 3 one-nighters en route.

that's one of the major reasons we upgraded from a popup to a hybrid. one nighters aren't fun in a popup. :-
