We are looking at lake lots now to put our trailer on. Gas goes a lot farther in our car than my truck.

We occasionally toy with the idea of a seasonal site somewhere but we love to travel and camping is our vacations. I think its important as a family now with the kids so young to get out and about and show them as much as we can.
When the kids are older we may go back to looking for a permanent site so Steve and I can just scoot out and have everything ready and the kids can come as they'd like. Our other problem is in NY the camping season isn't too long so There may still nice weather but if the cg closes for the season we can't go anywhere.

We have a seasonal/permanent site in the Mountains of PA. This particular campground is deep in the woods and has limited services, but it is very tucked away and private. (Only 10 amps of power, no AC or electric heaters, no sewer services, dirt roads to the campground, etc)

Do we consider it camping - yep, but we don't go up every weekend, we don't feel obligated to go there every weekend. So whats the difference, we don't have to pull a popup in and setup each time we want to use it, there already is a tiny (read as in Bed and Toilet) travel trailer there, so it can be used more for those times when we were planning on anything and just head to the mountains.

We camp both with trips in our popup and trips to the mountains. Its all camping, its just the different type of prep for each trip.

If I could find a waterfront site on a lake river that had no horsepower limits I would be on it in a second!
