What luxuries do you take camping? Coffee pot, special lawn chair, microwave, computer, etc.
My wife has always made me pack our coffee pot since it tastes so good. I've never tried perking on a campfire since it would take a while to get a fire started in the morning before we could start the coffee. :-[
k, here goes...4 " mattress topper, high thread count sheets, coffee pot, microwave, toaster, griddle, electric skillet, small food processor, small wet-dry vac, 22" plasma, DVD player, folding chairs with built in foot rest, two sizes of crock pots, my favorite Weber charcoal grill, furnace, water heater, and ac...Thats campin' for us....don't be hate-en
I usually have an electric site, and my PUP is stocked with small luxuries (ie., hand mixer, onion chopper, pressure cooker, memory foam topper, heated mattress pads, all personal care items - hair dryer, curling iron/straightener, etc.). The television stays in the PUP and has a DVD player, so I suppose luxuries would include DVD's.
We used to take everything and the kitchen sink like Joe, but have come to the realization that most of the stuff we take along were for other people or just in case. So this year we are going to signifignantly lighten the packing and what we store in the Popup.
The main luxury deals with sitting down to eat. We use real plates, real glasses, Martini and Wine glasses as for us, eating is a camping adventure. Funny thing is as much as the cooking ability is with the Popup, the majority of our dinner foods are cooked over the open flame of the campfire.

But Phil, didn't you just get the new popup with all that storage for all your stuff....you can't lighten your load now.
That storage is going to be used for "US" stuff, not stuff for other people. I used to keep spare tents/tarps/flashlights/air matresses all for other people and what would happen is we would invite people along and say, don't worry we have camping equipment if you need it. What that turned into is..... come camping with us and we shall set everything up for you. (reminds me of an Ann Landers saying - "people can't take advantage of your withour your permission".
so the removing of all the items is taking away the permission.
More storage...more more Martini glasses, sepereate alcohol bottle just for the campers, more decorations.... mmmm...

A bad day of camping is better than a good day at work.
I like Lone Lock's reply ... the popup camper!
Over the course of time I've managed to sort out the difference between essential and the whimsical ... afterall, you can only tote so much (junk?) -
But one thing I've found real, real useful for the places I go - a small chainsaw - since I'm mostly camping in the National Forests, I can find fallen trees away from the C/G and that chain saw will make short work of getting a large supply of firewood.
