I have a local campground that we stay at a few times a year and I've searched which sites get the best wifi so I can work sitting at the picnic table or a lawn chair.  My experiences have been very relaxing and productive.  Conference calls on the other hand, I try to avoid.

Have you ever worked from a campground?  :reader:

I remember doing a conference call with a salesman and a customer (I was in billing at the time) and the salesman was at the pool with his kids.

I wish I could work from home at times, but for my current job, responding to customer letters, I need the files and the actual letters which need to stay in the office.

I use to WFH and on our days off we would go camping. If the trip ran later or we wanted to start earlier I would use the air card and BB. While they we in the office on Madison Ave., I was in the woods. They never knew if I was in the office, at home, camping or halfway around the world for all they cared. I also "worked" while I was on "vacation." As long as I answered my phone & email.

Isn't this the way everybody works???

I've got unlimited internet from my CrackBerry.  Yes, when needed, I can work from the campsite.

I personally have never worked from a campsite but I will NEVER forget about 10 yrs or so ago when laptops first came out....we were camping and this guy made this roarin' campfire and came and sat down in front of it with his laptop.....my jaw just hung open.....won't ever forget that image! ( not that i think what he did was wrong....it was just so new at the time I was stunned you could have a portable computer, etc much less have one outside,etc)....it was very dark outside and his screen was facing me and the light from the screen plus the fire was intriguing!

Currently my stepsons both attend public school online....it is the wave of the future.....not trying to highjack the thread but making the point that computers can free things up considerably.....for instance, homework isn't due until midnight at our house.....makes for a flexible schedule during the day! We love it! Wouldn't go back to the old way for anything! ( we use the K12 program if anyone is interested)
