Established in 1964, Camp Taylor has always been family owned and operated. Located in the beautiful mountains of Northwest New Jersey, the campground consists of 150 sites located on 400 acres of pristine forest.
Adjacent to the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area and Appalachian Trail, our large wooded sites and miles of hiking trails offer a unique opportunity to reconnect with nature.

Whether you are a veteran outdoor enthusiast, or a first time camper, you will find what you are looking for in our primitive tent sites, electric and water sites, cabins, or onsite RV rentals.

The Lakota Wolf Preserve, located on the campground, offers educational talks and photo opportunities of a lifetime. The howling of wolves, which can be heard while sitting at your campfire, reinforces the feeling of a remote wilderness setting, yet you are only a short drive from dozens of family attractions, restaurants and exciting shopping venues in the New Jersey Skylands and Pennsylvania Poconos.

Sounds great! Friends of ours have a permanent site there and live there all summer.  Rusty's family also camps there.

Driftstone is not happening for a May rally, they are mostly seasonal sites and do not allow groups.  Not worth the trouble.  We are looking into another option for that same weekend and will let you know.

This seems like a nice place.  It looks like it would be a good place to bring my niece camping (remember, I gave camping as a Christmas gift).  I will have to talk with DW about this.

Looks like Camp Taylor is a go. This is a very nice, old style campground with less then 100 sites.  There are showers, flush toilets and a dump station at the main office area.  There are pit toilets near our loop.  There is electric and water at these sites and a creek near the area.

Just got off the phone with the campground, we booked #65

When you call, they don't take credit cards for the reservation, you have to send them a check - then you get the confirmation in the mail.

Official check-in is 3 pm, if you show up a little early, no problem. If you show up early afternoon or in the morning, they will charge you.

They also said - you CANNOT bring in wood...on the plus side is the lady on the phone said that we can pick up any deadfall and us it, and they have over 400 acres, so it shouldn't be a problem. We'll bring a bow saw, it would be good if someone could bring an axe or hatch.

I saw on their site you can "pre-order" large quantities of wood.

We will be booking in the next few weeks.

Yes I was....so busy that I was making more reservations in my dreams!  😀

Just an FYI:
I am not sending in a check, but will pay with PayPal online.
They told me you don't even need a PayPal account to pay this way.

Good to know about the PayPal, wish I'd known that. I just mailed the check this morning on the way to work.

This is turning into a new group quickly.
We can planning to tent camp this weekend, weather permitting.  :camperkid:
