Lou, are you going there on 6-21?
If so maybe we might shoot down there a day or two earlier if able and site was open.
See what ya started?
I have never known WV to be the pepperoni roll capital of the world? I thought that was Western PA. You want rolls, we'll bring you some rolls........and maybe some Easter pepperoni pie also.............. :-X
I'll tell you, I sure wish I could do a week there.
Since your going to be there all week you should make it a point to check out Cass, about 2 hours or so south. Its awesome.

A little less then 2 hours north is Fallingwater, a house designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright in 1935.
Sort of in my back yard
A few miles from Fallingwater (8 miles or so) is another Frank Lloyd Wright house.

You all are making me sick! I am so jealous. I miss WV. Cass railroad is great...took the kids there a couple years ago and road the train up the mountain. And Fairmont,WV is the home of the pepperoni roll. My parents were from there and I grew up going up there a lot to visit my grandparents. Sure do miss WV!
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3!
We just returned from here (XC ski trip) and I thought I'd share my knowledge before I forget. Wonderful place, very scenic-and mountainous road's. Maybe GPS's will be caught up by summer but every single person in our group (6 plus) had GPS direction problems. So... there is a new highway-rt 48, parts under construction that those of you coming from the south should take , as far as you can-it will be going almost all the way to Davis perhaps by summer. I also recommend it for those of you coming from the north (if you are using 81) otherwise you will end up on crazy hilly roads switchbacking under the highway above (which is not on GPS units) The town of Davis has a couple of good eateries, we went to Bright Morning Inn which was quaint & great (just get there in the morning for breakfast! they made a special exception for us -at 11:00 & seated us anyway) and Hellbenders Burrita & Syriana's was recommended too. Not sure if we are able to make this trip-but wanted to at least share all the info

WV32 is the only north/south highway through Canaan Valley. Canaan Valley is a nature preserve, and there will never be another highway built north/south. WV32 intersects with US33 at Harmon
US219N out of Elkins is west of Canaan Valley

Ohiopyle has a great natural water slide. On a hot day the cool mountain water feels great.
Yes it does, I grew up 15 miles away. The stream where those slides are, Meadow Run, is a great trout stream. Usually by mid summer the water level will be so low the slides are non usable. A long time ago, probably 35 years, I learned a valuable lesson on those slides when the water was fairly high. We came out of them bleeding and busted up pretty good ;D
Just got a call from Joe, he's been in contact with BFSP for the past two days.
We got the last thirteen sites and we are in. 😀 😀 😀
Confirmations should be following shortly.
This rally was one of the most difficult ones to arrange and I want to thank Joe T for his help in picking this park.
Also, Joe C for our many, many phone calls and constant emails to be able to set up this rally. And Phil for his help with the store.
Thanks again to everyone.
I can't wait for June.....
