Tony,
We will be doing a group campfire at the gathering site on Friday and dinner on Saturday.

FIREWOOD - Not sure where we are getting firewood yet since I haven't been there before.

BEER - There will be a 1/2 keg of Yuengling Lagar if those are interested.  We will be donating $15 per site and buying 2 or more if enough people are interested.  Please post if you are planning to be included.

DINNER - We will be bringing corn on the cob, butter, etc. and probably something else.

Just an FYI for the two members (not Tony) who have asked. 29 days or less 0% refund  Reservation changes should be made directly through the campground.  No need to cancel if arriving a day later.

Even with our Martini's, Peter and I are in for Yuengling. My son the Bartender is coming along, so we can put him to work  😉

We will commit a "protein" for dinner as soon as the chef decided what....

I've a suggestion for the Saturday group dinner...

How about everyone bring their own meat/protein dish for themselves and a side dish to share?

Oh man I really butchered my last posting but I think everyone got the message that we will be arriving on Friday instead of Thursday.

As for bring food for the gathering we will most likely bring snacks like chips, pretzels, dips and such. This is because we'll be coming directly from Canada and it is forbidden to cross the border with any meat or plants (fruits and vegetables) and it will be impossible to bring everything from home before going up to Canada for the same border crossing reason and the food can't be kept cold enough for that long. Hopefully we'll find a supermarket along the way and be able to pick up our food supplies. Otherwise we'll be eating out a lot. LOL.

I think we'll skip on the beer thing. Michelle is not a drinker and she nursing our son so no booze for her. I'm not a big drinker at all so I'll just be sipping on my water and iced tea.

Not sure what we are bringing for the dinner yet and niether of us drink beer so we will be opting out of that.  We have also decided to bring just the kayaks this time instead of bringing 2 cars to be able to have the jetski along.

Joe, we might be interested, but don't you have to have a PA motorboat license or safety course registration (I have neither).

I'm taking mine online. $34.50

When you pass, immediately print out a temporary certificate which will serve as your operating permit for 60 days.

I don't think there will be as many people on the water Friday and it's cheaper then the weekend.

I rented one of those in Florida with nothing more than a credit card and a driver's license. But that was about 20 years ago so rules may have changed since then. Anyway, those things don't go very fast and is pretty easy to manuver. All you really need is some common sense keep the speed low and you should be fine.

I just checked with them, since I live in NJ, I have to take the NJ equilivent (I can't take a PA one with a Jersey address). The NJ one, though can be studied online, requires an in person sit down exam. Nothing close to the area within the time frame  🙁

Just wondering if there is anyone else  interested in going to the Saturday night Live Cruise from 9:00 to 11:00PM.  I'd love to bring my dancing shoes and dance the night away.  Rusty will be there to hear the band. He's not a dancer.

I attended my cousins, husbands funeral today.  I am trying to convince her to come along on this trip to Raystown just to get her out of the house and away from the everyday norm that is tearing her up.  He went really fast, 6 or 8 weeks after thinking nothing was wrong except for fatigue and shortness of breath.  He went in for diagnoses and they found stage 4 colon cancer.  I really hope she comes along, I think the group we have would really be able to give her a escape from reality, even if just for a few days.

Bring your cousin along.  A weekend with the CanvasCamper gang can be very therapeutic. But then again, she may need rehab in the closest psych facility after spending a weekend with us.

Rusty and I are totally up for the Saturday night cruise. Any other interested campers?
