I posted a few times on the board - I thought I would post about my little trailer here and what I have been doing with it.

Purchased a 1980 Coleman Iroquois Pop-Up trailer in Spring of 2011. The person had dirty carpet in it - he removed it and supplied (but not installed) new carpet that fit. At lease it cover up that UGLY Yellow vinyl flooring. Everything worked except for the interior lights (cause he cut the wire and used a battery, not included, and was camping without any services) and the tail light were miss wired.

He posted it up on Kijiji site (an eBay company) for sale for $300 at 6:30pm - I contacted him at 6:45pm and saw it and it was sold by 7:15pm. I left it there for the night as was getting too dark to pull it and the wiring was mucked up on the trailer (and not plated and no insurance etc...). When I came during the day and picked it up - no less that 4 people contacted him offering MORE money that he posted it for (but I paid already).

$300! Cheap deal!

That year - I Changed the tail and task lights all to LED (eBay special) and cleaned it up and installed the carpet. My brother found out the guy cut off the 7 pin trailer connector and wired a 4 pin on to it - WRONGLY. Simple fix and 3 feet of new electrical tape and all work fine!

Tried it on a 4000 km road trip pulled by a Honda Civic (from the Prairies into the northern mountains of Alberta).  Averaged 12 cents per KM with average price of Gas 1.25per Liter. (Or 2500 Miles at $.19 per mile Avg $4.73/Gal). Ho and traveling at LEGAL speed limit (up to 110km/h).

That average well over 24 Miles per gallon (if I got my conversions correctly).  My Car normally get closer to 35-40 MPG highway (when not pulling anything and has NO stuff in it).

It was not a bad trailer - only issue was that we broke the wiffletree thrust bearing - we fixed it temporary but have to repair properly this year. And the table broke in half (was using it folded down into the bed position) it was made out of Particle board - now replaced with real Plywood (need to paint/stain/varnish or something to finish it).

Pulled it our this year and it need a REALLY good cleaning...... So I power washed it REALLY good yesterday to remove 30 years of surface grime and tree sap/mold.  I took off a bit of the paint off on the sides - but being prepped for paint today anyway.

Will post the current, before, during and after PICs and then I will be sanding & PAINTING it this weekend! (For a Total Cost Under $75!)

MORE restoration to come!

- New LED marker lamps
- New Awning/Cabana
- New Table
- Motorized Roof Vent/Fan
- New Canvas
- New(er) tires w/~80% tread life remaining (just snagged them today for $75 for all three)
- New water filler ports (on order)
- New style LP fitting and hose (on order)
- Updated Foam and Covers

Have yet to figure out where/how to post pics to use here.  The TV set STILL exists and DOG RIVER is still on the local Grain Elevator. Corner Gas was filmed not far from where I live (less than 1 hour drive away) however did not live anywhere near there when they were filming.  I moved from Manitoba to Saskatchewan 8 months ago.

Do you have a photobucket account or other picture hosting site? I use photobucket. Once you have the images loaded to photobucket, it's just a matter of copying the image code from photobucket, and pasting it into your post.

Looks so much BETTER!

Have not noticed too much "orange peal" effect using such a thick paint.  We thinned it down to about 4:1 with mineral spirits.

There is a few drips/runs in one area (did not thin the paint down enough) and an area where it was too thin out.  have to buff/sand the drips then put a second coat of Rust-Olum "Recreational White".
