Daylight Saving Time for many began Sunday, March 11, 2012, 2:00am, and ends tomorrow morning Sunday, November 4, 2012, 2:00am.  Don't forget to change your clock back an hour. (Spring forward, Fall back)

This is a great time to check your batteries in your smoke detectors.

Stupid time change.  I normally stay up too late on nights before work and end up getting less sleep than I should.  (I work Sundays).
Every year for the "Fall back", I end up staying up like normal until I then remember the time change.
Of course I then think I can stay up later since I will get an extra hour of sleep, and end up getting even less sleep than normal.

Springing forward is a killer for me. Lol

Argh! I'm originally from Arizona where Daylight savings time isn't recognized. Now in the midwest it just messes with my internal clock. I especially dislike fall back because now I go to work when it's dark and drive home in the dark  >:( If I wanted no off time in the daylight I would move to Alaska. I say we get rid of this antiquated system

I live in Saskatchewan - what is this daylight saving thing? LOL!!! (We are same as Arizona - does not observe Daylight savings)

Love it since I moved here - no more changing (or forgetting to change) clock and messing up my internal clock.

There is very little reason for daylight saving anymore. And for the most part there is more issues with people changing there clock twice a year than the "money saved" for daylight savings --- see Wikipedia.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D.....aving_time

Although an early goal of DST was to reduce evening usage of incandescent lighting, formerly a primary use of electricity,[12] modern heating and cooling usage patterns differ greatly, and research about how DST currently affects energy use is limited or contradictory.[13]

Mostly the change for extra "daylight" is short lived.

We were in Houston on Central Daylight Time but back home in Georgia, it was Eastern Daylight. We got up on Sunday planning to leave on Monday and had to change our physical systems to Central Standard Time, then Eastern Standard Time, after we changed our clocks at home from EDT back to EST. Why was I sleepy this morning?  ;D

there really is no benefit to it at this stage in our earth's status, aside from all the spacial/scientific data, it actually has become less cost efficient.

examples...  sun is past the horizon by 530 pm. which means lights come on earlier, temps drop earlier, cooking outdoors is a PITA, ( I hate grilling in the dark) which means I have to cook inside.  thermostats are adjusted to compensate for temp changes, kids are in by dark a lot sooner, etc etc etc...

we actually have only gained 15 minutes of light in the am (for our schedule), but lost over an hour of useful light in the PM.
