I saw this on facebook a few weeks ago and just helped a friend move a washer and dryer this week... made me laugh.

I don't think it will work with the new plastic tubs!  😮

I have an old dryer taking up space in my storage room but not the same type of drum - so it's of no use for this type of re purpose. I do use it to store pillows and sheets from the camper in the off season so it's not a total waste. Some day I just may scrap it but for now it has a purpose. Plus it doubles as a counter to stack more crap on ;D

Reminds me of a Stove-in-a-Can only more like one on steroids! I'll keep this in mind if my Samsung hits the dead zone -- heaven forbid!

When we were camping in Grand Digue, just north of Shediac, NB, this past summer, every campsite was supplied with a fire pit made of old washer drums. The campground was on the shore and could get windy, so they contained the fire nicely.

Gonna have to find an "old" washer, now.  Great idea!

I may have to incorporate a couple of these into some landscape designs and see how it goes. I'm sure  couple sell them on the basis of reduce, reuse, recycle.

Hope that my washer has a bit of life left after replacing the agitator coupling last month (for only $7 - YouTube troubleshooting saved me a bundle!), but it's good to know that the stainless steel tub that was a selling point has another good use even if the machine ends up as unusable.  We've been very disappointed with the two cheapie ($40 or less) portable fire pits that we've bought, even though we've kept them covered and painted with hi-temp paint.  We'll be planning for the future...thanks!
