I tossed out my last flyer and I KNOW it had a coupon for the $89 900 watt Generator.  Do you have your coupon?  Can you send it to me?

No, I am not going to fire it up in the campground next to you.

Lori and I have been trying to sell our house and Irene flooded us because we lost power so the sump pump did not run.  Since we have to disclose the flooding and tell what we did to fix the issue I want to say a generator is included to run the sump pump.

We think it will put the next owner at ease a little bit to know that it flooded due to loss of power and we made arrangments that even if power is lost in the future, the homeowner can get the sump pump working.

If you were buying a house and someone included a generator for the sump pump would it put you at ease or would it make you think the house floods all the time?

Hmm. I would worry about flooding, even with the generator. But, we had 2 sump pumps and a french drain and our basement w/ garage flooded during heavy rains after an ice storm, and we had power. It was the only time it had ever happened. It did not seem to bother the next buyers.

If I was buying your house, I would want to know if you normally get rain/water in the basement and when the power isn't out that the sump pump runs and is able to handle it.

Not sure I would want a generator that someone else had bought, even if you never used it. Talk to your realtor and see what advise they have.

The water comes in our basement because the water table is high due to a lot of clay being in the area and we are in a valley.  The sump pump can handle it.....it just needs juice. The battery backup is only meant to run for a few hours.  We lost power for 48.  Many people in town flooded unless they had a generator.

I talked with my realtor, he said get the generator.

Having the generator there would be a sign to me that you were trying to be proactive regarding the possibility of flooding due to a power outage.

I think it would be a good idea.
