Here's one idea that might work and is only about $60-$70: A Magna Cart collapsible hand-truck, plus three 7-gal Aquatainers.

Walmart sells the Aquatainers for $11 around here, and I've seen the Magnacart for around $30 at Costco, I believe.

The hand truck folds up pretty flat and will support up to 150lbs (only two Aquatainers at a time, unfortunately), and the Aquatainers have a built-in spigot, and they stack if you take the spigot off.  The nice thing about this combo is that one Aquatainer is luggable (56lbs full) if you don't want to or can't use the hand truck, and you don't have to bring/use all of the Aquatainers if you don't need them on a particular trip.

That's a lot of gallonage for a portable container! Water weight being 8 lbs per gallon ... that much water would be heavy.

Since we TRY to cook and wash dishes at the C/G picnic table, we have one of those 7/gal Aquatainers and set it up usually on the picnic table seat down at the end where the dishes are usually washed. The container has a spigot makes drawing water easy. Just in case the weather takes a turn for the worse and we are forced inside (which is rare), then the on board water tank is used. Here's a pic showing that Aquatainer in service.

Well, I would personally rather be working with the three or four of the 7/gal  Aquatainers rather than one container of the same gallonage. After filling I would simply load into the back of my truck (could also load into the back of a Suburban) and the campers have their water.

About the cheapest I've seen are the RV tanks sold on Ebay. There are several in the 30-40 gallon range for  around $45-$55 and another $30-$35 dollars for shipping. You would have to install your own fittings. One example is here.

flyfisherman,
I have a transfer pump, this way I would not need to lift anything...I have rheumatoid arthritis, and stress fractures in my legs...what might be good for you might not be good for me, hence the nature of my OP.  I can not "simply load" as others can, much to my chagrin.
thanks buddy, wolfie
