Is there a difference between a garden hose and a water supply hose?  Can I just buy a garden hose for the camper?

Good question Olive.  You really should buy one that is safe for potable water.  I think that there is a difference in the materials so you don't get that plastic taste in the water.  Walmart has white ones in their RV section and they also have a blue one that is normally with the garden hoses.  Both are labeled as drinking water safe.  Also get a pressure reducer if you don't have one.  The water supplies in pop ups are typically meant to handle up to about 50 psi.

I used to use 2 garden hoses on my popup and then when I bought my RV it had 2 white hoses.  I still use the garden hose when my white hoses aren't long enough.

Agree on both the white one (comes in different lengths) so as not to confuse it if you need to use another hose. You definitely need the pressure reducer and could also buy a bi-valve to attach two hoses. This is good if you don't have an outside shower for washing feet or getting water for outside use like in a bucket.

I just purchased a 35' RV water hose.  50' has been too long.

It is a 5/8" diameter, with metal coil support on the ends.

Regular garden hose will leech nasty chemicals into your water supply, especially when it sits and bakes in the sun.
