Last weekend i put on a add-a-room camper[Image Can Not Be Found] on tue we had a strom and the wind blew it in to the camper 🙁 and it bent the frame so today after work i put on a new frame for the awning. my Q is would you use the add-a-room or just use the awning as it is.

You just answered a question I had about how are they during storms.  Sorry to hear of the damage.  I think I'd not use it in bad weather. Maybe just unzip it from awning and let it lay till storm goes away and put it back up after. Of course, I'm from the learning, as a kid, of put the awning away if you''ve got too much wind, or a wicked looking storm on the way.

I love my add-a-room! You never know when a storm will hit or the winds will prevail. Been there..done it. I now am utilizing expandable paint rods for the frame.  They work great and are easily stored in the bag.

My old PUP did not come with a cabana or add-a room (missing or broke at some time in it's long life I would guess)

I just purchased A&E Dometic Cabana Screen Room POP UP for $150 (plus freight to Canada)

Have not tried it out yet (still incoming).

Was MUCH cheaper that a bag awning plus the add-a-room. If I could find a inexpensive Bag Awning/Add-a-room combo for 11' I would have purchased it.

I will have to compare this Cabana to when I had a Bag Awning/add-a-room combo when I get a chance.

You wouldn't happen to have a link to where you got that, would you?

Got it from eBay user Bannerbreeze

10ft
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-10.....0611404265

Also 16ft

Had issue with him shipping direct to Canada however - so sent it to my Viaddress in Elkhart Indiana. Then I have it shipped to me here in Canada. No issues there.

Sorry for dredging up an old thread.....Curious how these worked out. Do they provide full screened in protection? How do they seal to the camper along the edges? I have a 95 Fleetwood Rio grande and have looked high and low for a add a room. This might be just the thing I need.

Look it up on Camping World, it shows the awning, breezeway and privacy views. It comes with snaps to attach to the Pup but I use magnets on the lift arms and bungee's. I love mine, I can put up by myself. It stows in a bag for travel. It also comes with screen for the Pup wheel well and side to be total protection. I got another awning rail to use that part, we need total protection in Fl. Got mine from Bannerbreeze on ebay. as they are made for R Pods that have a curved awning rail, get a bigger size and it will reach the ground, at your Pup, otherwise you will need to add canvas to the bottom or lower your awning rail. Hope this helps 8)

Same thing happen to us. Had the awning secured and roped down with massive pegs. Awning slightly angled for rain run off and bam: storm blew in and destroyed the aluminum pole assembly on the trimline awning. I was not impressed with it upon buying it...i just knew there would be problems so I tried to forecast what 'could' potentially go wrong. The overall design is flawed and should be scrapped. There is definitely major improvements that could be done as this seems to be the norm for alot of us.

My AAR has survived several storms - I secure it and if winds are forecast, I leave the flaps open so the wind can pass through.  i can usually find enough rocks to secure the ground flap.
