My starter popup was a 1984 Coleman Columbia I bought in 2008. I paid $600 for it, $200 in repairs and I sold it last year for $850. I made $50
My current popup is a 1992 Coleman Seneca that I got last year. I paid $1,500 for it at a dealer. This popup has only cost me time and labor, no real $$$ for repairs.

Welcome Dean.
The price you pay is weighted on many facts. The ultimate question to ask yourself is if you're happy with you unit. If you are, stop worrying and enjoy.
lol well happy so far.... This year will be the test... But I'm happy with it... Other wise I wouldn't have bought it. 🙂 It's a major upgrade from our old 1986 pup!!!! 🙂
While cleaning out my Saved Mail for the new year I just found the CL listing for our PUP. We paid $1,400 for our '95 Dutchmen 1204 in the summer of '10. Probably a little much for all the work we're still doing on it, but it is exactly what we were looking for and they threw in an electric heater, a tabletop charcoal grille and a boombox that were already in the unit. We've also got a 12' box, cassette toilet/shower, fridge, a/c and queen/king sliders, and the canvas and interior are in great condition. We figure that it will pay for itself in the savings on campground cabins and hotel rooms in about 2 years.

Picked up a 1987 Starcraft Starstream which was real rough for $100. Replaced the complete floor, and repaired where there had been leakage around the ceiling vent, replaced the countertops with 3/8" plywood (painted and polyurethaned), patched a few holes in the canvas, and generally spruced it up. Love it. Sleeps like a charm. Have a total of under $500 in it with title and license, which in Illinois cost me $118. I learned a lot, and take a lot of pride in what I did. :cowboy:
