I have a 2000 12' Coleman Westlake with ABS roof.  The roof has been great but the design of the front storage bin has alot to be desired.  The storage box this not a seperate box, rather the front of the camper and it doesn't seal very well.  Of course, they corrected the problem with the new model but where do that leave me?

I work for a sign company that specializes in petrolium site conversions. (We make the sign to change BP to Sunoco)  The canopy over the gas pumps use an ACM product that is 60"'x10' corrugated polypropylene core with finished aluminum on both sides.  We route thru one side of the alum and can bend it 90 degrees.  We also apply vinyl decals and logo to it.

I'm wondering if I can use these panels for the sides and front of my camper and mount the existing storage box seperate from the rest of the camper?  I will hav eto talk to a few guys in the shop and see if it's an option.

I'm not a big naascar fan, but if I were. 😀 Can you say nascar camper?

Joe

Looks like interesting material to work with. I was at a Trailmanor dealer the other day and they show a cross section of their material. It is an aluminum skin inside and out bonded to a three quarter inch rigid foam. I wonder if the cans of spray foam would fill the hollow cavities of your material for increased thermal help.

So you are talking about copletely removing the exsiting storage box, then sealing the front of the camper, and reconstructing a new storage box that is only connected at the frame, and maybe some bolts holding it to the camper box for support?

Sounds like it would work great to me. As Capy mentioned you could spray foam in the voids of the material and that would add a layer of insulation. I say if you are confident enough in yourself, then you should do it, and post pictures!

I give this mod a big
