I'm planning our maiden voyage in our new HTT. We have a, semi local, county park about an hour away that we'll be visiting for the first time in the htt but have been there once before in the pup.
I've made some lists and have been getting supplies but wondered if any one had a good run through of what to watch for or must haves since we are new to a HTT.
Weather forecast looks decent so I'm really excited about that. We are in the midwest and this will be the earliest outing we've ever done.

Have a great trip! If you camped before in a PUP, the HTT shouldn't be too much different, other than appliances if your PUP wasn't equipped with water heater, fridge, etc.

Just got back from the first outing. All in all things went pretty well. The wind on saturday was just a bit to strong so we didn't venture out much. I did enjoy having the hybrid more than the pup in the high wind situations, it just seemed like a better refuge to get out of the wind.
We had a couple of issues as the weekend went on. 1st the shower drain leaked. Nothing serious but enough for me to have to unscrew some access panels and have a look. I found that the drain connection needed tightening ( frustrating since it is a new camper ) tightened it up and it's still leaking a little so I must investigate further. We used a towel stuffed inside the access area to catch any extra leaking and that seemed to work well to avoid any damage. Forest River will be getting a call come Monday.
2nd issue was that DW pulled the door closed while it was hooked open with the catch bar. Pulled the screws right out. I've already fixed that with an old carpenters trick I know by using wood glue and wooden toothpicks to fill stripped out wood screw holes. Screws went back in after the glue dried and seems to be holing well. A small tool kit is on my list of camping needs now.
We've made a comprehensive list of things we need or want and will be gathering things over the next few weeks before our next outing.
We love our hybrid, it was such a great trip other than the few issues we had. I believe it will only get better as we learn the differences between this and our pop up. I can't wait until the next trip.

like was mentioned, other than storage capacities, appliance usage, and any NEW things like fridge, ac, furnace, plumbing, tank drainage.  things should be the same..

one thing I will advise is this.... just because you HAVE the space, does not mean you NEED to fill up the cabinets...
