What the heck is Cooler Corn? A Coleman cooler (wiped clean) then filled with the shucked ears. Next, two kettles-full of boiling water are poured over the corn and the top closed. Then nothing. Sit down to dinner 30 minutes later and open it. The corn will be perfectly cooked. I'm told that the corn will remain at the perfect level of doneness for a couple of hours.

interesting...  can the extreme heat of the boiling water affect the styro-insulation inside the cooler walls?

I like it! Nothing worse than over cooked corn on the cob. I'll be trying this one as soon as the Fla winter corn crop comes in.

Did you hear about the blonde who put her ice cream and coffee in her thermos, because it "keeps cold things cold and hot things hot"?

(All right; I'm a sexist pig.........(LOL))

As long as the interior is not a thermoplastic (like Igloo) the cooler will hold up fine. Home beer brewers use coolers or beverage dispensers as the mash tun (holding the crushed grain with hot water to convert starches into sugars).

If the cooler interior has fine/sharp edged details molded in, its good.
