Has anybody switched their older cathode ray tube analog televisions to digital using a converter box and still using an antenna?

I have an older 13'' television (12v) that we use when camping. Some CG's don't have cable in the hookup's. I like to watch a ball game or the late night shows before falling a sleep, if I can sleep :banghead:.

By the time I invest in old technology, I might as well buy new... I'm thinking of purchasing a new television for the PUP.

Brandsmart USA has two small, feather weight televisions for $88 USD.

Can anyone share their experience?

I just got a 22" combo dvd player for my birthday for the camper.  I am pretty sure it came from wal mart, but supposedly had good spec compared to what best buy etc. had.

I am curious as to what portable Antenna to use with it though, any suggestions?

I've thought about getting a 12vt/110 DVD combo but they are pricey as heck.  I don't even know if it would kill the battery when dry camping.

Not sure about the battery; we only go to CG with hookup's.

I'm very intrested in what kind of antenna to use with this new digital technology?

Is anybody using antennas out there to get free digital programing?

I can't comment directly, but I know a few people that own this one and seem to be happy with it.

We just hook our little led tv up to the antenna that came on camper and get 10 to 15 stations usually. We don't watch a lot of tv so if I can find news in the morning. I'm a happy camper.

Just googled:  over-the-air (OTA) reception and that explained how to find digital TV signals in your local TV market and in nearby cities. They introduce the different types of TV antennas and tell you which ones perform best under various reception conditions, but none for RV or campers listed.

I'll check out camping world and other RV stores even West Marine.

Just an FYI for digital signals. There is no special antenna required as the bandwidth for the broadcast is the same as the UHF channels that we have received for years. Of course, there is no need for the VHF antenna in most parts of the country.
