As a kid in the boy scouts we would sit around the fire until very late, sometimes 4 am on a Saturday night (the leaders would start getting up at 6ish). We would sleep in the cars on the way home. As an adult, I usually stay up until 10ish. Now I am the one getting up at 6ish.

It depends on how tired I am and how clear the night sky is when the fire is dying down. Living in the congested suburbs of Detroit, stars are a bit of a novelty. The combination of a sky full of stars, a warm glowing fire and the peace of a quiet night will keep me up for quite awhile even if I'm dead tired.
When we have a camp fire ... which is often ... we like to sit around it after supper and the evening chores are done. Of course, who does not like marshmellows(?) ... (desert). But I'm getting to be an old fart and usually worn out early so I don't linger long like I use to when younger. If there's no real early plan on fishing (trout quite often will really start to rise to the surface around 9:00/10:00 am so that means I can do the fire thing real early in the morning and enjoy the morning coffee fireside.

never thought to do a morning campfire....that does sound lovely.....a cup of coffee warming your hands and the flickering light from a campfire.....sounds good to me!
Usually after midnight sometime. DW's in earlier but i like to sit and, as said above, zone out while the fire burns down.

.
One of my favourite things to do camping is having a morning campfire. Add to that the kids in their jammers, eating their cereal, wrapped in blankets while DW gets to sleep in. Makes us all happy!
