I have a 1961 Apache Eagle pop-up with a canvas tent and there is a plastic cover that goes over the whole thing after it is folded up.  It has gotten discolored from overhead trees.  I tried bleach and different types of cleaners, but they didn't help.  Has anyone found a good way to clean a cover like this.  I would like to spray paint it, or put SOMETHING on it to make it nice and new looking.  It is totally waterproof, so I'm afraid of messing it up.  Anyone have any ideas?

That top is your road cover.  If it's like the other parts of a hardside Apache it is made of ABS.
You might check out the Apachepopups.net to see if they've got recommendations.  If I see something, I'll get back to you.

The road cover (now I know the right name for it 🙂 is a very thick white plastic, which is foldable and very flexible.  My Apache is not a hardside.  It has an aluminum body and the canvas tent folds out and goes over aluminum poles and ties underneath the pullout beds.  It's like a big tent on wheels.

I've checked at Lowe's and they don't seem to have anything that might work to make the cover prettier.

I will check out the site you suggested.  Thank you.

I searched online for vinyl cleaners and came up with 303 Fabric/Vinyl convertible top cleaner and 303 Aerospace Protectant.  I found several different kinds of vinyl dyes, (Dupli-Color Dye Vinyl and Fabric spray, Auto Plastic Vinyl Trim dye, and Hi-Tech Vinyl, plastic, and carpet dye, and others on E-Bay).  Has anyone ever used these products?  I want to clean to vinyl cover, dye it back to either off-white or lt. gray, and then put a protectant on it.

I found out this morning a guy on http://www.apachepopups.net makes those covers.  I'll direct your question to him and see if he's got an answer for you.

Well, just an update on my vinyl road cover.  I finally decided to spray paint it.  I know, that doesn't sound good, and it may not work, but I did it today.  It looks fantastic, but I don't know how it will end up working out.  I got the spray paint for plastic.  Now I just need to find a piece of plastic about 8 foot wide by l0 feet long to lay over it to keep rain from standing on it.  Maybe a ATV cover.
