I saw a vote for Spam in here and I will have to 2nd it.  We tent camped with the girls when they were small and much to their disappointment, Dad always made 1 meal of browned Spam smothered with white hominy and onions.  I think my DD has already warned both DGD's about Papaws wicked recipe for the woods.

That pork roll looks suspiciously like fried balogna.  Another one of my favorites with a slice of tomato and some miracle whip.  We called it Kentucky Round Steak growing up.  (Apologies to all you wonderful folks in the Bluegrass state, but we were just ignorant Buckeyes).

Philly soft pretzels are my favorite regional food (though I refuse to eat the ones sold unwrapped out of rusty shopping carts after sporting/music events at the South Philly sports complex area (yes I know I'm a party pooper!))

Being a transplant to the Philly area from NYC/LI I've got a palette for both regions.  Give me NYC/LI cheesecake or pizza or Chinese food or ... And I'll take the Philly treats too.

And while you may think pork roll looks like balogna, it ain't and is nothing like balogna. But it is good!

Baron, that looks like quite a feast -- and no hot DOGS! ;D

It is a belly-buster!
Our little dog would be just a snack here! 😉
Dog soup (보신탕) is NASTY! It stinks! Some of our teachers have tried it, but no one in our family eats it.
A lot of people do, though, and if you are really sick, even doctors will tell you to eat it! It does work. It is "Chinese" medicine, just like chicken soup has been proven to help with a cold.
The hot dogs WE eat are usually the Dodger dogs they sell at Costco in Korea-not like the real ones at Dodger stadium, but good!

Fried soft shell.

I fry 'em in lemon-garlic butter. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

(Glad the Bay's coming back. It's been a long, uphill battle. [Well, uphill is a little strange for talking about a body of water, but, you know what I mean.] I "discovered" The Bay in 1976, have camped on The Shore since then, and, in the 90s, belonged to a sailing club centered on Annapolis. Gawd, I love Bay seafood!)

Mmmm...scrapple and pork roll...2 of my faves because they're forbidden foods.  So bad for you, yet so delicious! :chef:
