Things to do while in Gettysburg: Golf at Liberty Resort (very close, like 5 min away), Gettysburg Battle field, Battlefield Harley Davidson store, Neat shopping in historic downtown, the outlets at Gettysburg, Ghost tours in gettysburg, the campgrounds annual yard sale is that weekend too, bring your stuff to sell, or your list to buy, Beer sampling.
Also, Adam's County Winery http://www.adamscountywinery.com is in town or the actual winery is in Cashtown. Also, a fun place if you like elephants and/or candy is Mr Ed's Elephant Museum and Candy Store http://www.mistereds.com/ located on RT 30 headed toward Chambersburg.
Best Regards,
Norm
I reserved site 236.
Camping next to water was on my list of things I want to do! Of course, I think I pictured a lake in my head, but this works too. 🙂
I'm a bit worried that my site is double-booked though, when I first asked about site 236 the guy said it was taken, then I mentioned I was with Canvas Campers and then he said the site was available. Hopefully they just moved someone who didn't request a specific site that wasn't with the group.
Has anyone been to yard sale weekend before?
We will be there, Wednesday April 18 to Sunday April 22, site # 14.
Due to medical reasons we need a sewer hookup so couldn't take one of the blocked sites. The campground does know that we are part of the group so our attendance counts towards the quota for a discount.
looking forward to meeting everyone.
I have updated everything at the beginning of the thread. If you have info missing, please post an update.
There has been discussion of having a summer picnic type dinner with hamburgers, hotdogs, lettuce, tomato, onion, pasta, macaroni and potato salads, maybe baked beans, pickles and olives, a few deserts, etc. I'm game for anything, let me know your thoughts?
