I was already going to try for arrival Thursday if I could get ready in time, so I'm still pushing for that. Vik-King, you won't be lonely if you come up a day early.
Just looking back at most of the forecasts this year, I wouldn't be surprised if the hype turns out to be minimal.
The park will be plowing/salting if needed. Let's do this!
Hmmm Maybe I can get my act together and show up Thursday night as well. Gotta figure out the Nathan situation then. Does he come with me or stay home, who would pick him up from school on Friday? I need to pick my MIL up Thursday at 5:30......Or maybe I just stick with Friday arrival. Either way, I don't plan to actually book it, I'll just show up and put my money in the box. Crap, now I gotta find a check. I don't handle the checkbook (DW doesn't trust me....we'd have a new camper)

Some of us are into geocaching. We have hidden 6 temporary caches around the campground that you can try to find. Some are difficult, others are easy. Grab a sticker from each cache and we'll see who gets to them all. If you are new to geocaching, download the geocaching.com app to your smartphone and someone will help you. The difficulty ratings are 1-5. One being easy and five being difficult. We will also have an easier version of this for the kids...in a treasure map style. "Walk 20 paces from here"

There will also be 2 gadget caches by the campfire. Lets see who can get into them 🙂
Don't forget our 2 actual registered geocaches, TRI-EEE and BETWEEN THE NAKED TREES.

Well, the car has run perfectly since I put the dry gas in it, and I'm going to make sure there's more in it before we leave Friday. At worst, I can eliminate water in the gas as a cause if it dies again. I might still be able to leave DC at least a little early, but I won't know till I see what jobs come in tomorrow and Friday. It looks like we'll just have our 3 kids and the dog. Alex's friend can't make it and cousin Kyra has a birthday party to go to on Saturday. We'll be bringing a meat loaf to the potluck that my boss gave us the recipe to.
We just booked thursday night we will get up there about 4 tomorrow. The kids are jumping for joy I'm giving them a camping PA snow day on friday and maggie is bringing her friend Courtney. Most people would back away with these kinds of conditions, but not canvas camper members we look for an excuse to add an extra day of camping. I also made it to the bakery that has peanut free stuff and got like 50 cup cakes for the campfire for friday night to go along with the assorted cookies. so we can all sit around in the snow at the fire and eat cupcakes and cookies 😀 If your traveling on Friday please remember slow and steady wins the race, not speed racer!
Vagov I would recommend Morgantown exit of Pa turnpike to 10 South (about 1 mile towards Morgantown ) then left to 23 east go about 6-8 miles through Elverson to 345 north (dodge dealership on left) make a left and follow 345 for a few miles (about 5) to state park South entrance. It's all fairly straight until you make the left onto 345 then it twists and turns but it is well marked.
