Groupon has Segway Tour Tickets. WARNING They are only good through Friday May 15. If you are going to be there early, this may be a cool way to see the battlefields.

I picked DS2 up in Gettysburg from his college spring break carpool last week & started thinking about this rally. Up until November, I am sorry to say that I had NEVER been to Gettysburg. Since then, I have only been to the Dollar General parking lot :), (to meet the carpool) but I am now more than ever looking forward to this rally & seeing the sights.

we are booked for this trip, creek site but I will have to check which one or do a transfer- what is the cut-off date for the sites to be released? I may have some new folks that might join us. This will probably be the first trip getting the trailor out.

First let me say that if you are arriving after dark, please stop and get those of us who are already there to shed some light on your campsite before you try to back in.  There are lots of trees.

Here is some site info: you may want to look at the map too to make the order of the #'s make sense as the skip around a little.

Wanted to let you know that 213 should definitely NOT be labeled as a pull thru.  Maybe for a tiny pop up.  But not for most pop ups and definitely not for an HTT or TT.  NO Way.  The campground tried to give me that one, glad I drove out today to look around before booking.  A popup would fit on it backed in, or a teardrop or A frame.  But not much else.  (due to the placement of mature trees)

Also not a pull thru is 225.  Can be backed into easily, but not pulled thru because of trees.

I would also back into 223.

221 is huge!  and a pull thru.
219 is a pull thru, but not very long, maybe parked diagonally or parallel parked.

210 is long, creekside, and full hookup, and easy to back into.
212 is ok for a pup or small TT
227 has trees in the "yard area"  which is OK.  OK for pup.
228-236 have some trees too, but a pup goes in easy enough.

211 is a pull thru and is wide open no trees nice for a TT.
213 is a back in for a pup/small TT.
214 and 215-sorry I didn't take notes
217 and 218 are nice for pups. back in.  (If neighbor behind you isn't there you could pull thru)
220 pups ok.
222 Nice Choice Bruce and Lynn! This is a large back in site.(could be pulled thru if no rear neighbors)
224 and 226 OK for pups.

Site 59 is nice but no hookups.

Sites 14 thru 33 are all nice, depends on length you require.

Sites 114-210 creekside are all nice, most are easy to back into, some shorter than others.  Also nice and big is site 185. Which is a true pull thru.  All sites are covered completely in gravel.  There are lines painted on the gravel so that you know where the edges of the sites are.  This is a campground where actually knowing your neighbors is good.  If you haven't met before you got there. you will know them before you leave for sure! (This is not necessarily a bad thing)  The sites are not overly spacious, but the campground was designed before campers and vehicles got so big.

We were actually considering stopping here for a night during our August road trip, sounds like a whole weekend is needed for all the sites.

Honestly you can never go to Gettysburg enough. We go a couple times a year for the last 11 years.

Norm

Okay, now that the Lager Jogger O0 trip is over, it's time to start thinking about this one. Anyone else going to join us?
What about the potluck? If you decide on an item, please post it & I will update the list.

Hey Gang!!  I did some research and I think I found a really good tour for us.  It's run by the Gettysburg Paranormal Association.  http://gettysburgparanormalinv...../index.htm  The tour is called "The Author's Tour" -  Join Gettysburg's most popular tour guide and published author, Johlene "Spooky" Riley, who will personally escort you to locations featured in her book, "Ghostly Encounters of Gettysburg." Tours days vary. Times include 7:00, 8:00pm and 9:30pm. Cost is $12.00 per guest.

According to their online calendar, the tour times are 8:00PM and 9:30PM.  Go on their website and book tickets now since they sell out fast!  :chef:
